Shanghai in April | A must-visit to Jing'an Sculpture Park

Today when I went, the ☁️ little dog sculpture from the first picture was no longer there, but it welcomed the long-missed spring. The park was bustling with people, yet it didn't annoy me. Because the space is open and the scenes are rich, if you can't see the cherry blossoms, you can look at sculptures, if you can't see sculptures, you can go to less crowded areas and stay with the ☀️ and the grass, or at the very least, take a few laps on the citizen's walkway. The walkway is not boring either, with periodic avant-garde sculpture displays showing some artistic expression. Living near the sculpture park for almost three years before and after going abroad, from the initial bronze and iron types of sculptures to the now colorful and concrete images, makes one realize that sculptures can also be interesting and diverse. This place is also a good spot for observing humanity, where you can see uncles and aunties who come out to photograph and socialize on workdays, the stumbling little children, and the out-of-town tourists who often ask me to take photos for them. In just a short 20 minutes in the park, it seems like you can see a lifetime of people, as well as the spirit described by Yu Hua as 'It seems they only have one direction to move in, and that is forward.' Although compared to London, the sculpture park is much smaller, one can feel that its planning has already begun to carry human warmth. Two years ago, that quiet spring, I watched as the park downstairs went from bustling to empty, and this year, the park has gone from being closed to an open structure!
