Visit the Shanghai Exhibition｜Sabrina J, the artist of "Sense of Power" I always thought that Qiu Fei was Chinese, after all, he had a Chinese name, until I saw the artist himself adjusting his work, and it turned out that he was a foreigner! Her splicing works are very interesting. They look like a large piece of geometric figures, but they are actually made up of small pieces of geometric figures. There is a magnet behind them. You can combine them however you want. After transformation, it becomes a new work. Sabrina J was born in Reunion Island but grew up in France. She studied applied arts at the Ecole du Perret and the Ecole Boulle in Paris and has lived in Paris, London, Ho Chi Minh City and now Shanghai for the next 9 years. Throughout her career she has been deeply involved in art, interior design, product design and fashion as a creative director. As her role evolved, she collaborated with talented craftsmen skilled in different materials and had a keen interest in collecting materials and artifacts from cultures around the world. The only constant is her fascination with weaving different styles together, combining different materials and textures, mixing cultural influences, whether through design, fashion or art. Material associations, textures and mixed cultural references have always been part of her creative identity as a designer and artist. Sabrina J’s creative focus is on the material itself. Her experimental approach to materials comes from her academic background. Her inspiration comes not only from the texture of the material itself, but also from its historical and cultural background. Her control over paper is reflected in its texture. Some of the lines distributed on the paper are like trickles, and some are wide open and closed, like valleys and rivers. Sabrina is more like a creator than an artist, appropriately intervening in the presentation of paper while stimulating its growth. Embroidery, folding, cutting and merging, these techniques were planted on a simple plane, creating a large rain forest.
