A luxurious experience of art and culture fusion. Not long ago, my best friend and I chose a weekend for a luxurious experience of art collision. In the past, we would go on vacation around Shanghai or to Chongming Island, but recently we have become increasingly lazy, so we decided to see an exhibition locally and booked a hotel in the city to start our weekend roaming time. This time we booked the MGM West Bund Hotel, which was built by HBA and opened in March this year on the Binjiang River. I believe many hotel enthusiasts are not unfamiliar with it. The hotel is located in the Xuhui Binjiang area, connecting the West Bund Art Museum and the Oil Tube Art Center, extending the atmosphere of culture and art to the overall tone of the hotel, suitable for literary and art enthusiasts to check in. As the first city hotel under the Diaoyutai MGM Hotel Group in mainland China, the iconic golden lion at the entrance of the West Bund MGM Hotel fully integrates the Oriental heritage with contemporary elements on this land of art, while incorporating the high-end, elegant design style into the tone of traditional historical culture, making art more life-like and classic. Check-in is at the 57th-floor sky lobby, where the 'porcelain' display installation turns the entire public area into a sky museum, very representative, highlighting the independent charm of Chinese culture and art. The hotel's wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows make the view even more open, and you can enjoy the bustling cityscape of Magic City without leaving the house. The hotel has a total of 161 luxury rooms and 58 suites, with spacious and comfortable overall space in the rooms, at least 60 square meters. We stayed for 2 nights, the first night was a luxury double bed room, priced at 1500+. The entire room is designed with a log color as the main tone, blending Eastern aesthetics with high technology, and the soft furnishings and art decorations in the room are more dynamic, visually making the atmosphere of contemporary urban life more three-dimensional. The second night we moved to the river view suite, with a 270-degree river view that is absolutely unique, priced at 3000+. The room can be used as a connecting room, sharing a living room, very practical. The overall color scheme incorporates Klein blue, making the entire design level look more stable and dynamic. The hotel's coffee cups are printed with the silhouette of the West Bund landmark building, the room amenities are from the Italian brand Lorenzo Villoresi, and the hair dryer is Dyson. The hotel restaurant is located on the 57th floor, offering a rich dining experience including Italian, Chinese, afternoon tea, etc. Dining here offers a panoramic view of the West Bund riverside. The pizza oven at the entrance of the restaurant is full of design sense, and cheese lovers must not miss the half-moon pizza, which has three kinds of cheese, strong cheese flavor, and delicate taste. The lunch here mainly offers Cantonese dim sum, while the evening focuses on Cantonese and Shanghai local dishes. The swan pastry made with Iberian ham, black truffle soup dumplings, and cigar rolls filled with fresh shrimp are highly recommended and won't disappoint. The Tria Zen Water Therapy on the 58th floor offers SPA services, but we didn't have time to experience it due to time constraints. The hotel's infinity pool is also very photogenic, but we didn't bring swimsuits so we just went for a simple visit. Going to the sky bar on the 59th floor of MGM is a must! It has an unbeatable city night view, there is also an outdoor terrace, suitable for check-in photos, there is a resident band at night, and what attracts me the most is its crystal lamp, which is absolutely dazzling.
