The 84th Army Martyrs' Shrine of the National Revolutionary Army.

The "84th Army Martyrs' Shrine of the National Revolutionary Army" is located in Ban'gedian Village, 360 meters northeast of the intersection of Huayuan Road and Zhao Chongde Avenue, Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. The road to the Martyrs' Shrine is very narrow and only allows one car to pass at a time. If you are not good at driving, you can only walk along the winding alley. In the spring of 1942, the 84th Army Commander Mo Shujie bought more than 40 acres of wasteland in Ban'gedian, southeast of Shangcheng, to build the Martyrs' Shrine and bury the remains of more than 10,000 soldiers who died in the Battle of Shanghai, the Battle of Xuzhou, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Sui and Zao, the Battle of Southern Henan and other battles against Japan since 1937. In January of the following year, the Japanese army invaded Shangcheng for the second time. The 84th Army rushed to fight. The remains of more than 400 soldiers who died in the Battle of Chongkou, Shangcheng County, and the Battle of Suxianshi were also buried here. Inside the Martyrs' Shrine, there is a "Wall of Honor for the Martyrs of the 84th Army of the National Revolutionary Army" on the west side. The tomb of the Anti-Japanese Hero General Zhong Yi is on the northwest side. The memorial hall is on the north side. In the middle of the hall, there is a "God Position Tablet of the 84th Army of the National Revolutionary Army and the Martyrs" and a "Tablet of the 84th Army Martyrs' Shrine of the National Revolutionary Army" and a horizontal tablet of the martyrs' names and resumes are embedded on the east, west and north walls. The Martyrs' Shrine was completed on July 7, 1943, and was listed as a county shrine for protective repairs in 1988. In 2000, the People's Government of Henan Province announced that the 84th Army Martyrs' Shrine of the National Revolutionary Army was a key cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province.
