Fukuoka Castle Ruins

Fukuoka Castle Ruins is a must-visit for history lovers! While the castle itself no longer stands, the remaining stone walls and structures give you a sense of its former grandeur. The area is located within Maizuru Park, which makes for a perfect stroll, especially during cherry blossom season. Walking through the ruins, you can spot remnants of gates, turrets, and walls, all with informative signs explaining their history. The view from the top of the ruins is spectacular—you get a great panoramic view of Fukuoka city. It’s a peaceful place to escape the city noise, and it’s free to visit! While there aren’t many actual buildings left, the historical significance and the beautiful park setting make it well worth the visit. I’d recommend bringing a camera, especially in the spring.
