A Step Back in Time at Gyeongbokgung Palace

Visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul was one of the highlights of my trip. The palace is incredibly beautiful and full of history, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of Korea’s royal past. One interesting thing to know is that if you wear a traditional Korean hanbok, you can enter for free. Otherwise, the entrance fee is very reasonable — just 3,000 KRW. Many visitors choose to rent hanboks nearby, which not only makes the experience more authentic but also looks amazing against the backdrop of the palace’s stunning architecture. Walking through the vast courtyards, intricate gates, and colorful pavilions, you can almost imagine what life was like during the Joseon dynasty. Despite being located in the heart of modern Seoul, the palace grounds feel calm and peaceful. I highly recommend setting aside a few hours to explore Gyeongbokgung at your own pace — and if you can, dress up in hanbok to make your visit even more memorable!
