🔥 Chungmuro Sausage in Seoul 🍽 In the evening, the streets of Chungmuro in Seoul slowly began to bustle. Shop owners moved tables and chairs to the side of the road, and as the streetlights came on, the aroma of barbecue already filled the air. The place was almost entirely filled with locals, gathering after work to eat barbecue and chat, always with a glass of "shobi" (soju + beer) in hand, cold and refreshing. 🥩 We chose a sausage shop with a pleasant atmosphere. The menu was simple: we ordered a beef and pork combo, along with tripe and kimchi. Soon, the owner arrived with the ingredients and began to grill them, his movements smooth and performative. 🔥 As the fire started, flames instantly shot up the iron mesh, enveloping the beef, and the aroma immediately filled the table. The beef had a strong flavor, the sauce was rich and salty, and the slightly charred skin had a chewy texture that became increasingly fragrant with each chew. The chives on the side were a perfect complement, doubling the aroma when eaten with the meat. 🐄 The tripe was immediately fresh and had no fishy smell. A little sesame oil and salt gave it a nice, crunchy texture. 🍚 According to local custom, after grilling the meat, some of the sauce and broth are reserved for fried rice, allowing it to retain the aroma of the meat and the essence of the sauce. We were so engrossed in our eating that we cleared out all the ingredients, leaving only the empty iron plate. The owner smiled and shook his head, then made us a pot of piping hot fried rice. Nestled at the foot of Samgaksan Mountain, Gilsangsa Temple is located in a residential area of Seongbuk-dong. It is a Buddhist temple featuring a statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva created by a Catholic sculptor. In front of the dining hall, the summer trumpet creeper blooms vibrantly, just like the lotus flowers in the pond. It's an even better destination in summer—Gilsangsa Temple in Seongbuk-dong. 🌳 Address: 68, Seonjam-ro 5-gil, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul 🌻 Admission Fee: Free ⚘ Tip: Since the village bus drops you off right at the entrance, it's recommended to take the bus when visiting. Walking there can be challenging as the path is uphill. While visiting Gilsangsa Temple, you can also take the village bus to the nearby Woori Old Stone Museum, which offers beautiful scenery and is worth exploring. On the same day, consider stopping by the Seongbuk Museum of Art and Choi Sunu's Old House as well.

The newly opened Seoul Natural Recreation Forest in Dongmakgol, Suraksan Mountain, Seoul, has a treehouse that's all the rage these days.
