Banpo Hangang Park｜The Most Romantic Night View Landmark on the Han River

Located in Seocho District, Seoul, Banpo Hangang Park (반포한강공원) is a multifunctional leisure area that combines natural scenery, cultural facilities, and picturesque spots perfect for photography. Situated along both banks of the Han River and connected by Banpo Bridge, it’s not only one of the favorite walking spots for Seoul residents but also a popular destination for couples and families to enjoy picnics. Originally part of the Han River management project, Banpo Hangang Park began construction in the 1980s with the aim of improving urban spaces and leisure quality for Seoul citizens. In 2009, the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain was installed on Banpo Bridge, instantly making it one of Seoul’s iconic tourist attractions. 1. Moonlight Rainbow Fountain The world’s longest bridge fountain stretches 570 meters along both sides of Banpo Bridge. Every evening, it features a water show synchronized with music and lights, creating an incredibly romantic atmosphere! Banpo Bridge + Jamsugyo Bridge The lower level of Banpo Bridge is Jamsugyo Bridge, which gets submerged when water levels rise—a unique feature! Some Sevit Floating Islands These three floating structures—“Island of Light,” “Island of Life,” and “Island of Dreams”—light up at night, exuding a futuristic vibe. Inside, you’ll find restaurants, exhibition halls, and event spaces, making it a perfect spot for photos. 4. Picnic Lawns + Bike Paths On sunny days, I love bringing snacks for a picnic on the grass and renting a bike to ride along the Han River—it’s so relaxing! There are also convenience stores, food trucks, and places to rent mats nearby, making it super convenient. 5. Sunset Views + Night Photography The sunset and night views from Banpo Hangang Park are absolutely stunning. Especially after dusk, when the bridge lights up, the dreamy atmosphere is perfect for photography.
