A Day at the National Museum of Korea

It is a museum that you don't often go to unless you have an assignment or a field trip, but the National Museum of Korea has surprisingly many interesting corners. You can easily spend half a day just looking at the permanent exhibition. First, if you visit the Prehistoric and Ancient History and Medieval History Halls on the first floor, you can see famous collections from the Paleolithic Age to the Korean Empire, which will help you reduce the distance between museums. If you go to the second floor, you will find the Calligraphy and Painting Hall and the Donation Hall, and on the third floor, you will find the Sculpture and Crafts Hall and the World Culture Hall. I recommend the third floor more. There are many things to see, such as Korean Bangasayusang, Goryeo celadon, and Joseon white porcelain, as well as Egyptian mummies, familiar Japanese and Chinese crafts, and Southeast Asian crafts that may be unfamiliar. After the museum was renovated, there are spaces where you can touch and experience things in addition to just looking, so it wasn't boring. In addition to the permanent exhibition, special exhibitions are constantly being held, so I recommend checking the website in advance!
