My Visit to Sanbangsan's Canola Fields

#aprilblooms If you're drawn to vibrant yellow landscapes, especially if a certain drama has piqued your interest in canola fields, then a visit to the fields near Sanbangsan in Namjeju might be on your list. I recently had the chance to experience this sea of yellow, and here are my thoughts. The sheer expanse of the canola flowers is undeniably striking. It's the kind of view that makes you want to stop and take it all in, a perfect backdrop for photos. It seems the buzz around these fields, possibly fueled by a popular drama, has indeed drawn many visitors eager to witness this floral spectacle. A word of caution though, especially if you're visiting when the flowers are in full bloom – bees! If you're planning to immerse yourself in the flowers for photos, be mindful of where you step. Also, perhaps leave the perfume at home to avoid unnecessary attention from our buzzing friends. Do come prepared for sunshine. There isn't much shade, so packing sunscreen and a hat or parasol is a wise move to ensure a comfortable visit. While the drama might have painted a picture of an intensely fragrant experience, I found the scent of the canola flowers to be present but not overwhelming. Personally, while the yellow fields were beautiful, my heart still leans towards the charming tangerine groves that Jeju is also known for. There's a certain nostalgic fondness I have for those. On a positive note, the atmosphere was lively with fellow travelers, many capturing memories with their cameras. I even had the pleasure of helping a group of friends take their photos. As a bit of a blogger myself, I couldn't resist ensuring they got some great shots, and thankfully, they returned the favor with some lovely pictures of me amidst the yellow blooms. Overall, the canola fields near Sanbangsan offer a visually stunning experience, particularly if you appreciate a vast expanse of vibrant color. While it might not be the intensely fragrant experience some might expect, the sheer beauty of the landscape makes it a worthwhile visit, just remember to come prepared for the sun and be mindful of the local bee population! #springblossom
