Jeju Booyoung Hotel & Resort ⠀ 🕵️‍♂️ Insta Hot Place. Jeju Booyoung Hotel. About 50 minutes from the airport. Located in Jeju Jungmun Complex. The hotel and resort buildings are separated, boasting a huge site. I passed the hotel lobby to park. Wow. What is this color? It's unique. I wanted to know the architectural features. As expected, there was a unique reason. ⠀ 1️⃣ Jeju Booyoung Hotel & Resort opened after many twists and turns ⠀ While looking for architectural meaning, I learned about the eventful construction process of Jeju Booyoung Hotel. The process until its opening was complicated. In 2012, the WCC (World Conservation Congress) was held at the Jeju Convention Center (ICC). Before the event, a plan was made to build an anchor hotel that could serve as a lodging facility for participants. Accordingly, construction was carried out with the plan of JID, a local subsidiary of a Hong Kong investment company, to raise funds by selling condominiums, but the sale was not successful, so construction was halted due to financial difficulties. After a long period of construction, it was finally acquired by Booyoung Group and construction resumed five months before the WCC. It opened on August 30, 2015, eight years after development began. ⠀ 2️⃣ Work by Ricardo Legorreta, a master of Mexican architecture ⠀ When the first construction began, JID entrusted the design to Ricardo Legorreta, a master of architecture. He is an architect who uses the three elements of light, color, and water as his architectural language. The master's buildings are different, but they are definitely different. When you look around the hotel & resort, you can feel that it is his architectural work everywhere. Colorful colors and thoroughly calculated angles of light. You can feel the exotic feeling. Palm trees on Jeju Island, which can be seen in tropical climates. The harmony of colors that is not easily seen in Korean architecture further enhances the extraordinary feeling. ⠀ ----------------------------------------------------- 💁 Rooms & Facilities ⠀ 👉 Old sensibility and friendliness ⠀ Booyoung Group's corporate philosophy 'With love' / The hotel's most basic standard room can be reserved for the low to mid 100,000 won range during the off-season. It is a hotel that offers good value for money even though it is a 5-star hotel. So I visited without much expectation on the kindness and service of the staff. However, is it because the corporate philosophy is embedded in the service mind of the staff? It feels like the kindness of the staff is ingrained in me. I really liked the feeling of receiving stable service through the actions and words of the staff. In fact, the image of Booyoung Group feels old-fashioned. The rooms also had an old-fashioned feel overall. However, the rooms are spacious. And there is a terrace where you can enjoy the view while looking at the vast ocean. A beautiful swimming pool with an Instagram-like feel and various facilities. It's okay if it's old-fashioned. ⠀ 👉 There are touching points. ⠀ Jeju's appearance is contained everywhere in exotic colors. The entrance to the hotel lobby. Two giant golden stone grandfathers greet you on both sides. It feels like a hotelier welcoming customers. And the hotel logo BI. The Jeju-ness is fully expressed with Dolhareubang and palm trees. Exotic and Jeju-ness. Good. But it doesn't end there. There are hidden customer impression points everywhere. When checking in, they tell you that all drinks in the minibar (refrigerator) in the room are free. It doesn't end there. When I entered the room, there were even Pringles snacks, so I didn't have to worry about a simple snack. And one more thing. It is mandatory to have a mask in the country. Some people may have forgotten to bring an extra mask while planning a trip. As a consideration for customers in the country, disposable masks, hand sanitizers, and gargles are provided in the room. As expected, small considerations can bring great impressions. ⠀ 👉 Good for families with children and couples ⠀ The biggest reason to visit Jeju Booyoung Hotel & Resort is probably to use the exotic outdoor swimming pool. The outdoor swimming pool is divided into two spaces (A, B), and there is even an indoor swimming pool. When I actually visited, I thought there would be a lot of young customers since it was an Instagram hot place, but there were also a lot of families. A hotel & resort that can capture a wide range of target customers. There is also a kids cafe, so it is an even higher choice point for families with children. In fact, an important factor for the 2030 generation is whether it has an Instagrammable space.
