Gyutan Yakizuke at Sendai Station Gyutan Street | Waiting in line for an hour to eat charcoal grilled beef tongue

When you come to Sendai, your first meal should be the "Gyutan-tsu" at the station! There was a long queue at every restaurant during dinner time, so I chose beef tan grilled. Although the queue is shorter in this room, it only has 9 seats. Finally, I waited for an hour before I was seated. This time I ordered the Yaki Satsuma (JPY 2650) which was recommended by the store manager. The roasted ox tongue comes with 4 slices, which can be increased to 6 slices for an additional fee. In addition, the grilled beef tongue here comes in two flavors: salt and miso. You can taste the aroma of charcoal and it is thick enough, but the texture is chewy and not too soft. The salt flavor is relatively original, while the miso flavor is relatively stronger, making it a good choice to eat with rice. The beef tongue also comes with spicy miso pepper and refreshing kimchi. The oxtail soup in the set meal is full of chopped green onions, the soup is clear and the beef is very tender. You can also choose a beef tongue stew or beef tongue curry, I chose the former. The rich sauce mixed with cream makes the overall taste more mellow, and it is also a good choice to eat with rice.
