Travel Notes on Sendai, Japan (Pure Practical Version)

⭕️Sendai impression 👅 Beef Tongue: Sendai's food representative, surrounded by beef tongue shops, must try! 🦪 Oysters: Near the sea, oysters are famous for being fresh and affordable. 🥃Whiskey: Japanese brand NIKKA has set up a factory here. It is worth visiting the distillery. 🐦 Ancestor Bird: Yodobashi has a bird shop with a lot of goods and no need to grab, you can take a look when you walk by. 🫛 Edamame flavor: surrounded by edamame products, souvenirs almost all edamame flavor, dessert control favorite. 🥣 Taiwanese people: rarely meet Chinese tourists, but meet many Taiwanese. ✈️ Transportation I used to mostly take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Sendai, but now Express has direct flights: • Hong Kong → Sendai: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 08:15-13:30 • Sendai → Hong Kong: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday 14:30-18:25 🏨 Accommodation It is recommended to stay near Sendai Station for convenience and plenty of food: • Westin (Premium Option) • Holiday INN (good value for money) • One Five Hotel (Simple Style) • Phase Iron (cheap and good) 🍽️ Food recommendations • Beef Tongue: Zenjiro, Riku, Hisuke, Go, Si (try them all!) • Wagyu: Zaihu (cheaper lunch set) • Edamame Smoothie: Hikusui-an (super rich) • Oysters: Oyster Market (ready to eat) • Coffee: Aoyama Bunko (breakfast delivery before 11 p.m.) • Dipping noodles: めんya Takejiro (superb soup) ⭕️ Attractions (The distribution of attractions and routes can be found in Figures 8 and 9) 🥃 NIKKA Whiskey Distillery • Visits are recommended and you can try them! The main page has a detailed introduction. Work and hot springs do not have time to skip. 🌲 Matsushima • One of the “Three Scenic Spots of Japan” with over 260 small islands. • Itinerary: 1 hour by boat + 1 hour walking the island + 1 hour at Ruiyanji Temple. • Take the bus to “Matsushima Coast Station” and get off to see the boat ticket office, nearby Riku Beef Tongue, and soba noodles at the temple. 🌸 Funaoka Castle Site Park • Super beautiful in bloom season! When the weather is nice, you must go and take a picture. 🐱Cat Island (Tashiro Island) • Was going to go, but had to leave around 6am + mixed reviews, finally gave up. Cat owners can challenge. 🪦Lu Xun Memorial Hall + Sendai Castle Ruins + Osaki Hachimangu Shrine + Great Kwun Yam • All urban attractions, walkable in one day, suitable for City walk. 💡Tips • There is a "Loople Sendai" sightseeing bus at Sendai Station, which saves money and is convenient by buying a one-day pass (620 yen). • Remember to buy souvenirs a little early, many shops close at 8pm!
