Exploring the Biblical City of Ephesus

Ephesus, also known as Ephesos, was a major city established by the ancient Greeks in Asia Minor, located at the mouth of the Cayster River flowing into the Aegean Sea. It was originally founded by Athenian colonists. According to legend, the Virgin Mary spent her final years here. Today, the ruins of Ephesus are a famous tourist destination in Turkey. During this visit, we explored the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World), the Library of Celsus, and the Great Theater. The Library of Celsus is a magnificent structure, with its well-preserved façade still standing. As for the Great Theater, it is vast and expansive, believed to have hosted large-scale dramas and public events in ancient times. Since all the attractions are outdoors with no shade, be prepared for intense sunlight!
