Luang Por Samret Saksit, Saraburi Province This Buddha statue was discovered by accident when workers dug up soil from the Raphiphat Canal near the Phra Ekathotsarot water gate to fill in other areas of the riverbank that had been eroded by water. This is because the area is wider than the other areas. When they dug deeper, they found that some of the soil was harder than usual. They couldn’t dig any further, so they went down to explore and try to dig out the surrounding soil. As they dug, they found that the large, solid soil broke off and became a clay Buddha statue. The villagers invited it to be enshrined on top and built a shrine for Luang Por at the location where the Buddha statue was discovered. The villagers often come to pay homage and make wishes.
