North 3rd Street Square

Coming out of Sapporo Station, head south for a few blocks, and behind the red City Hall, there's a small square. A row of food trucks selling various foods are parked there, offering ice cream🍦, hot dogs🌭️, and various desserts🍮. In the afterglow of the sunset, it presents a harmonious scene. On the other side of the square is the Akarenga Terrace, whose exterior also uses the same red bricks as the old government building. One of the main attractions of this shopping center is that from the window seats of the restaurants inside, you can overlook the red bricks and greenery of North 3rd Street Square. The space on the 5th floor is designed as an observation deck, offering a bird's-eye view of the old government building and its gardens, making it a great spot for taking souvenir photos when visiting Sapporo.
