Established in 1869, the centrepiece of the Main Shrine is an impressive A-framed building whose gold embellishments positively sparkle on a bright Winter's day. I was particularly fascinated by the wooden frame with wires that devotees tied their "wishes"/prayers around. Set in Maruyama Park and approached along the Cherry Tree Boulevard from the 2nd Shrine Gate, the Hokkaido Jingu Shinto Shrine is probably impressive whatever season you choose to visit. I want to visit this place again. #2024wish
