An afternoon in Ia, where the blue sea and white village come together

#OctoberTravelGrant The village of Oia in Santorini felt like time passed slowly. Strolling along the alleyways, the white walls and blue domes created a scene reminiscent of a painting. The afternoon sun warmly enveloped the village, painting the exteriors of the buildings a golden hue. The distant sound of the wind and bells added to the peaceful atmosphere. Just walking through the alleys, lined with small souvenir shops and bougainvillea, was healing. Sitting on one of the many cafe terraces, sipping lemon juice and gazing out at the sea, the blue of the Aegean Sea seeped deep into my heart. Even without doing anything, time passed in bliss. As the sun began to set, Oia's sunset became the highlight of the day. A crimson glow spread across the white buildings, and the sky and sea gradually merged. Everyone gazed at the scene in silence, smiling. In that moment, I understood why this place is called "the city with the most beautiful sunsets in the world." 📍 Oia Village, Santorini, Greece
