Its historical heritage is centered around an ancient Benedictine monastery, surrounded by beautiful natural areas. Sant Cugat stretches across a vast plain defined by the Collserola and Galliners mountain ranges. Although numerous archaeological artifacts from 2000 to 1500 BC have been discovered in the area, the origins of the town can be traced back to the Roman fortress Castrum Octavianum (4th century AD).
