Sanming Qilin Mountain Park is located in the eastern part of Sanming City and was built in October 1980. Qilin Mountain was formerly known as Niulong Mountain, with an altitude of 262 meters. It was renamed because an inscription of Confucius playing with a Qilin was unearthed from an ancient tomb on the mountainside. The park has tourist attractions and facilities such as the Kylin Pavilion, cable ropeway, dragons playing in the water, garden within a garden, imitation Su Pavilion, Kylin Academy and winding paths. There are also Haoran Pavilion, Juyun Pavilion, Sanyuan Pavilion, Lianhua Pavilion, Feishi Pavilion, Pavilion Corridor, etc. built on the mountain. The pavilions are triangular, hexagonal, and square, and are staggered in height. Qilin Pavilion is built at the highest point of the mountain. It is 24.5 meters high, 12 meters wide, octagonal and has six floors. It is made of reinforced concrete. You can take in the scenery from both near and far when you climb up the pavilion. Walking slowly along the winding mountain road, it only took 35 minutes to reach the top of Qilin Pavilion. A night tour of Sanming Qilin Mountain Park can be described as a changing scenery.
