Wat Thamcharayaphirom: Pay Homage to Luang Pho U Thong

🏕 Wat Thamcharayaphirom, originally named Wat Mai Mathuros, is located along the Damnoen Saduak Canal. It was established in 1901 during the reign of King Rama V. Initially, the temple only had small monk's quarters with thatched roofs and was not yet fully completed. 🏰 Over time, the temple was gradually developed and renamed Wat Thamcharaya, and later Wat Thamcharayaphirom, which means 'great joy in practicing Dharma' or 'a serene place suitable for practicing Dharma'. 🏰 Within the temple grounds stands the magnificent yellow Phra Maha That Rattanachedi, a large stupa located by the Damnoen Saduak Canal. The base of the stupa consists of two floors. 🏰 The upper floor houses the principal Buddha image, Luang Pho U Thong, a highly revered and beautiful Buddha statue that is the spiritual center for the people of Ban Phaeo.
