Kok Kham Temple

Wat Kok Kham, Samut Sakhon Province The temple is very old. It is assumed to be from the late Ayutthaya period. There is the 4th Phra Buddha Sihing or the locals call it Luang Pho Samrit. The Phra Buddha Sihing is a sacred Buddha image of Thailand, with only 4 of them: 1. National Museum, Bangkok 2. Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai 3. Ho Phra Singh, Nakhon Si Thammarat 4. Wat Kok Kham, Samut Sakhon The Buddha image itself is an early Chiang Saen Buddha image, more than 300 years old. The lap is 66 cm wide, 83 cm high, and the base is 153 cm in circumference. The body is plump, the head is round, the forehead is arched, the nose is curved, the lips are narrow, the halo above the crown is a short flame, the hair is curled into a round gland, and the seated position is a diamond meditation. The hands are placed in the Mara-Vijaya posture, wearing a blanket-like cloth, and the base is a chopping block base.
