Safranbolu is located in central Anatolia, Türkiye, about 200 kilometers from the capital Ankara. The Ottoman houses and buildings in the old city have been completely preserved, including private museums, mosques, cemeteries, historical fountains, Turkish baths, clock towers, sundials and hundreds of houses. After renovation, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Safranbolu covers an area of ​​about 1,000 square kilometers and is 485 meters above sea level. The town's name comes from the saffron flower and the Greek word polis (city-state).
