A delightful surprise descends from the sky at the VOCO Hotel in Xiong'an Langyue

A millennium project, the city of the future, Xiong'an, currently has only three international chain hotels. The newly opened VOCO last year is located in the south of the city, with hardly any supporting facilities around except for real estate developments. Of course, Xiong'an as a whole is still under construction, so no matter where you go, you won't encounter crowded scenes. In this sense, this place is a boon for those who prefer solitude. The hotel treats Diamond members with great generosity, upgrading to a suite directly at check-in without prior communication. Having stayed at the other two VOCOs before, which only offered a minor upgrade, I had no expectations and was even more pleasantly surprised. The hotel is not large, and the buildings are not tall, with three separate small buildings forming a courtyard. The north side is adjacent to a community garden under construction, offering a relatively better view from the windows. The one-bedroom suite with two bathrooms is square and spacious, with a logical layout. The living room has a balcony, which is unfortunately not accessible, and the double vanity wash area is huge. The hardware is even more impressive: electric curtains, capsule coffee machine, mirror smart TV facing the bathtub, and both bathrooms equipped with Washlet toilets, features that many full-service five-star hotels cannot match. Other perks for Diamond members include two drink vouchers and a 60 RMB voucher, which can be used to exchange for two cups of tea at the lobby bar and buy two pieces of cake, making up a simple afternoon tea for two. The next day's breakfast is at the Yuehu Xuan restaurant on the first floor, which is not large but quite stylish, with local specialties such as donkey burger, Baiyangdian salted duck eggs, and date flower pastry, showing sincerity.
