Roma caput mundi- the eternal city

Getting There - if you’re coming from abroad, definitely plane. But if you’re already in Italy, take the high speed train, it’s usually not very expensive and it arrives in Roma Termini in the city center. Attractions - There’s so many things to see in Rome. The Colosseum, the Roman Forums (more than one), the Campidoglio, Castel S.Angelo, Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, San Pietro, etc etc. Buy a guide or research online. Prioritise what you like and save the rest for the next trip. Hotels - if you’re 4 or more, an apartment would be cheaper. If you’re looking for an hotel, don’t stay near Termini as it’s not too safe the night. Between Piazza di Spagna and Barberini it’s ok, you will be near the metro and restaurants. Food & Restaurants - Try everything but mainly look for places that usually serve locals. When in Rome, you should go at least once to the Roman Ghetto to try the Roman Jewish cuisine (the community has been in Rome for more then 2000 years) Shopping - via del corso & via del babbuino will have all the shops your heart might desire. #urbanexplorer #tripblazers #celebratewithtrip #passionpassport #bucketlistreboot #2023travelwish #foodie #roma #rome #italy #awesomepic

Roman Forum

#bucketlistreboot West of the Colosseum is the Roman Forum (Foro Romano). This is a rectangular forum (plaza) surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings which was the centre of day-to-day life in Rome for many centuries. This is where criminal trials and public speeches were held, elections as well as commercial affairs. Keep walking towards the Capitolium or Capitoline Hill and you will see the impressive building at Piazza Venezia. We have outlined the top places to visit in Rome and things you shouldn’t miss whilst in the city. We were in Rome for a long weekend, so you can certainly fit all these attractions and tourist highlights in 2-3 days. #rome #italy
