These "teddy bear" chollas glow at sunrise, and tiny pink and yellow desert blooms added unexpected pops of color during my visit. The air was cool and crisp — ideal for wandering the boardwalk without the summer heat. Pro tip: wear closed shoes, those cacti are spiky up close!
