🇪🇨 A day at Ichimbia Observatory and Mosaic Cafe 🌄

I've always wanted to visit the Itchimbia Park Observatory in Quito! It's a great spot for taking photos in front of the giant Quito letters, similar to other countries' I amsterdam or I.SEOUL.U. 📸 --- 🏞️ Itchimbia Park Location: On a hill near the old town Transportation: Uber recommended over walking (roads are unsafe) 🚗 Atmosphere: A relaxed, local atmosphere with picnicking families, couples, and children. This park is filled with local sensibilities, with locals playing futsal and children running around. Spontaneous photos with the kids I met here 📷💕 → A small pleasure of travel! The simple Quito letters make the perfect photo spot! I gave up on taking my own photos because I was flying my drone, but if you come with a friend, you'll be able to capture a variety of poses. ✨ --- ☕ Café Mosaico A cafe with a great view, located just down the street from Itchimbia Park. Enjoy panoramic views of the old town from the terrace 🌇 Signature: Club Beer 🍺 Recommended Time: From dusk until night (sunset + night view) Cons: Don't expect much from the food 🙃 (Even the onion rings were so-so...) From the terrace, you can even see the Angel Statue and the Basilica in the distance. No one seems to mind you sitting around long into the evening, so it's a great place to relax with a beer. Honestly, Quito's night view is a bit bland compared to La Paz, Bogotá, and Salta 😅 But the view of the old town bathed in the sunset was worth it! ⚠️ Be sure to take an Uber back.
