Jiaoshan Great Wall is the 'Dragon Horn' of the Great Wall

The ticket for Jiaoshan Great Wall is 40 yuan. The path to the scenic area is flat, and not far away, there is a statue of Li Zicheng. Then, there are two paths up the mountain. One path leads directly to the Great Wall, where you can walk on the wall; the other path is beside the Great Wall, climbing the mountain along stone steps. The former path to the Great Wall is relatively steep, with large steps, which is quite tiring, but the scenery is breathtaking and is the first choice. The latter path is relatively gentle, making the climb easier, but the scenery is average, suitable for the elderly and children. Of course, we headed straight for the Great Wall, experiencing the difficulty and fun of climbing. The Jiaoshan Great Wall is 4 kilometers long, passing through various watchtowers such as Xiapufang, Qianjiulian, Hanmenguan, Shangpufang, Dita, and Houjiulian. Each stage left us breathless and feeling noticeably oxygen-deprived. However, Xiao Zuo was energetic and felt relaxed, showing that regular exercise makes a big difference! At Dita, we climbed up a vertical iron ladder, which is almost the highest point. Then, we descended another vertical iron ladder on the other side and walked a short distance to Houjiulian. From there, we could continue along the path beside the Great Wall to the cableway station and take the cableway down the mountain. We chose to descend the stone steps beside the Great Wall. The descent was relatively easy, and we returned to the Great Wall at Dita, then descended to Shangpufang to rest for a while. We ate a Shanhaiguan ice cream that the vendors were eagerly selling and listened to them explain the origin of the name Jiaoshan Great Wall. It turns out that the Laolongtou Scenic Area in Shanhaiguan is the head of the Great Wall, the ancient city is the eyes of the dragon, and Jiaoshan is the dragon's horn, hence the name. Leaving Shangpufang, we continued along the stone steps beside the Great Wall, feeling relaxed and cool, with no rain. Along the way, we admired the flowers and plants, without the burden and fatigue of climbing, and smoothly reached the foot of the mountain and exited the scenic area.
