Jimo Ancient City

Jimo Ancient City is located on Dongguan Street, Jimo District, Qingdao. Jimo, first recorded in ancient texts such as the *Strategies of the Warring States* and *Records of the Grand Historian*, was a famous city of the Qi State during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. It became a county in the Qin Dynasty and a city in the Sui Dynasty. Stories such as the Upright Official of Jimo, Tian Dan's Defeat of the Yan, Tian Heng's Five Hundred Loyalists, and Guo Xiu's Three Memorials to the Throne have made Jimo famous in history. The Jimo county seat has been in its current location since 596 AD, boasting a history of over 1,400 years. After unifying China, the Qin Dynasty implemented the "prefecture and county system," and Jimo was officially designated as a county. In the early Han Dynasty, Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang's grandson, Liu Xiongqu, was enfeoffed here as the "King of Jiaodong." Subsequently, Emperor Jingdi Liu Qi's sons, Liu Che and Liu Ji, were also enfeoffed here. After that, six or seven princes of the Liu family successively enjoyed wealth and honor in the fiefdom of the King of Jiaodong, their power extending over more than half of the Shandong Peninsula. Jimo County, which also served as the "national capital," became the political, economic, and cultural center of the Jiaodong Kingdom. Born from the renovation of shantytowns, the Jimo Ancient City project, as a form of urban "reconstruction," has become an important witness to the evolution of Jimo's history and culture. Jimo Ancient City
