Precautions for the Giant Peak of Laoshan's Four Lines!

The entrance to the Giant Peak is right at the Dahedong Ticket Office, and the starting point of the mountain loop bus is the same as that of the Laoshan South Line. Friends planning to go to the Giant Peak must pay attention: the South Line follows the coastal route and can go to Taiqing Palace, while the Giant Peak is purely a mountain climbing route. If you are not confident in your physical strength, be sure to note the following points! 1. Do not save the 80 yuan round-trip cable car fare. You must take it. It saves a lot of energy. Otherwise, if you go late, I fear you won't have time to get down the mountain. 2. When you reach Xunmen, also known as Xiantian Bridge or Lingqi Peak (they are the same place), you can stop there. Most of my photos were taken here, and it counts as reaching the top. 3. Do not circle the mountain. The scenery is similar, but the distance is really not close. After reaching Xunmen, you can return the same way. Of course, friends with good physical strength can climb the entire route or take the cable car up and then circle the top of Laoshan, walking through all eight trigram gates. Along the way, you can view the mountains and sea from different angles and pass by an iron chain suspension bridge. It is important to remind everyone that although the Giant Peak is a very physically demanding route, the sea view at the top is very beautiful. However, Qingdao's maritime climate is unpredictable, and Laoshan's sea fog is present seven out of ten days. The day I went, the weather was stuffy, and the sun was overhead, but it still couldn't stop the sea fog from spreading. So if you find that the fog is heavy that day, it is highly recommended to change your route to the South Line at the foot of the mountain. Otherwise, you will find nothing but white fog at the top. The distant photos I took were also processed to remove fog; otherwise, they would be even less clear. The overall tour time is estimated to be about 8 hours if purely climbing, 5-6 hours for cable car + mountain loop, and 3-4 hours for purely cable car. These time estimates are based on people with good physical strength. If your physical strength is not very good and you like taking photos, the cable car + Xunmen route can take up to 5 hours. So everyone must act according to their ability. I took the cable car up and down Huashan and visited all five peaks (East, West, South, North, and Central) in 6 hours (including photo time). My physical strength is not bad, but I still found the Giant Peak very tiring. The Giant Peak is relatively steep overall, almost all stairs straight up, and the coastal area of Qingdao is stuffy in summer, often with low air pressure, which greatly affects your cardiopulmonary function.
