The city balcony of Qingdao West Coast New Area

In December 2012, with the approval of the State Council, the Huangdao District of Qingdao City and the county-level Jiaonan City were abolished, and the new Huangdao District of Qingdao City was established. The administrative region of the original Huangdao District of Qingdao City and the county-level Jiaonan City is the administrative region of the new Huangdao District. The Qingdao West Coast New Area, established on June 3, 2014, by the approval of the State Council, is the ninth national new area. It is unified with the administrative district Huangdao in terms of system and mechanism, including the entire administrative area of Huangdao District, with a land area of about 2129 square kilometers, a sea area of about 5000 square kilometers, and a coastline of 309 kilometers. It is building high-standard 'four international cards' including the city of film and television, the island of music, the city of beer, and the coast of exhibitions. The city balcony faces Lingshan Island across the sea, with the Wetland Park, Forest Park, and Dazhu Mountain Scenic Area on the south side, and Xiaozhu Mountain and Tiejia Mountain on the north. It integrates multiple functions such as leisure and entertainment, sightseeing and vacation, and beach sports. It is the largest social welfare project on the west coast.
