Pearl Qatar, one of Doha's tourist attractions, is a small artificial island located in the northwest of Doha. The island is said to have been made in the shape of a pearl necklace, as its name suggests! Since it was the first place in Qatar to allow foreigners to own land, there were more people who weren't Middle Eastern than at other tourist attractions. I was really envious of the yachts anchored there. It's a neighborhood with a lot of rich people. There are so many banks, cafes, movie theaters, restaurants, etc., it's a hot place in itself... but I visited on a Friday and none of the stores were open.
