A must-visit for a slow life in the ancient alleys of Pu'er 🍵, the century-old buildings in Daijia Alley hide the most chill afternoon moments in Pu'er. 🏨 Accommodation Recommendation This time I stayed at Chaling Hotel (South Distribution Center of Tea Horse Ancient City branch), the location is super convenient! Whether driving or taking a taxi, it’s very smooth, only a 10-minute drive from Daijia Alley. The hotel thoughtfully prepared a self-service mini bar with free drinks to take as you please~ The biggest surprise was the stunning sunset view right from the room, and the breakfast’s crossing-the-bridge rice noodles made me eat two bowls in a row! 📍 Daijia Alley Travel Guide The century-old building complex hidden in Pu'er’s old town is incredibly photogenic! The bluestone paths paired with weathered brick walls make every corner a surprise. The alley is full of artistic little shops, including a traditional tea-making experience center, a handmade silver workshop, and a super cute cat café 🐈. It’s recommended to visit around 4 PM when the sunlight slants into the old courtyard, making every shot a vintage masterpiece. When tired from walking, rest at the old teahouse in the alley; a pot of local Pu'er ancient tree tea costs only 30 yuan, paired with freshly baked flower cakes. This kind of slow-time beauty really makes you forget the time. 🌟 Travel TIPS 1️⃣ Most of the old houses in the alley have been converted into creative spaces, remember to bring your photo-savvy bestie. 2️⃣ Behind the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital’s back door, there’s a 20-year-old bean soup and rice cake shop, a hidden local delicacy known only to locals. 🍜 Nearby Food 1. Small Tofu Rice Noodles: A 40-year-old old shop, famous for its small tofu, authentic taste, loved by locals and tourists alike. 2. Xinji Red Bean Pastry Shop: A time-honored pastry shop known for traditional handmade mooncakes, especially the ham mooncakes, perfectly balanced sweet and savory, crispy outside and tender inside. Also offers shoe sole cakes and red bean cakes, made with premium ingredients and purely handmade. 3. Big Beard Iced Cocoa: Located across the alley from Daijia Alley, the Thai-style iced cocoa is refreshing and smooth, perfect for hot weather. The second-floor seating area offers a wide view overlooking the street scene. 4. Jinyao Jin Snack Shop: Offers specialty snacks like cold mixed fried eggs, fried cold noodles, and Pu'er fried rice noodles, full of local street food vibes. 5. Yangji Pu'er Sour Vinegar Rice Noodle Main Store: The minced meat rice noodles are fragrant and tender, with free refills of sour vinegar, great value for money, and a very popular rice noodle shop among locals. P.S. The UV rays in Pu'er are really strong! Remember to bring sun-protective clothing and hats when visiting Daijia Alley~
