San Galgano Abbey: The Roofless Abbey

San Galgano Abbey is a roofless, completely ruined monastery. On the day I visited, the weather was perfect, and the clear blue sky visible through the walls of the abbey felt like a piece of art in itself. Inside the abbey, there were several mirror-like objects scattered around. The beautiful Gothic architecture is captivating, and the site is sometimes used for weddings. I even considered it as a location for post-wedding photos! (Though I ultimately chose France for my wedding photos.) While it’s a bit far from places like Pienza and Siena, this is definitely a spot worth visiting during a trip to Tuscany. Around the abbey, some people were lying on the grass, taking naps. Everyone seemed relaxed, and the area appeared to serve as a local gathering and relaxation spot. 📍San Galgano Abbey Strada Comunale di S.
