Borobudur Temple, which predates Angkor Wat

My Trip to Yogyakarta, Indonesia The sole purpose of my 3-day itinerary was to visit this place. Built three centuries earlier than Cambodia's Angkor Wat in the 12th century, Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple are exquisitely crafted and well-preserved. Their preservation is partly thanks to being buried under volcanic ash, much like Pompeii. Even as someone who has visited Angkor Wat twice, I found Borobudur Temple deeply moving and awe-inspiring, enough to clasp my hands in reverence. Perhaps due to its less accessible location compared to Angkor Wat, there weren’t as many tourists as I had expected. It makes me wonder—when did human creativity begin, and how far can it extend? One disappointing aspect was the foreigner entrance fee, which is three times higher than that for locals. However, this seems to be common across Indonesia... (The tour, including entrance fees for Borobudur and Prambanan, cost a total of 120,000 KRW.) Indonesia also charges for visas, and entrance fees are significantly higher for foreigners.
