Stroll around Poznan Old Town Square

Poznan's Old Town Square is located in the old town on the west bank of the Warta River. The Town Hall and the surrounding market square have mythical historical attractions and colorful beautiful buildings. There is a Rococo-style fountain of Roman mythological figures in each corner of the square, representing the Queen of Hell, the Sun God, the Poseidon and the God of War. The Old Town Square is not large and there are not many people, so it is very comfortable to walk around. I casually walked into the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Mary Magdalene (Fara Church), a pink and white Baroque building located in an alley. It was built in the 17th century, destroyed during World War II, and rebuilt after the war. The interior of the church is decorated with gorgeous marble columns and gold-plated decorations. I happened to see someone practicing on the organ, so I sat down and listened to a few pieces of music quietly. I specifically looked for a small shop on the street corner selling St. Martin’s Croissant. This unique croissant, which is protected by EU regulations, can only be found in Poznan. #AprilGoodDestinations2025
