If you prefer to explore on foot, many of the city's main attractions are within walking distance of each other. The Andante Tour Card is a convenient and flexible travel pass for visitors exploring Porto, Portugal. This card allows unlimited use of the city’s public transportation system, including metro, buses, and trams, with two options: Andante Tour Card 24h (€7.50) Andante Tour Card 72h (€16.00). Andante occasional ticket: cost €0.5 and could buy from vending machine. Top attractions Ribeira District: Porto’s Ribeira district is the city’s beating heart and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This riverside quarter is a maze of narrow, winding streets lined with colorful houses, charming cafes, and bustling squares. Clérigos Tower: The Clérigos Tower, standing tall in the city center, offers visitors the chance to climb its 240 steps for sweeping views of Porto’s red-tiled roofs. Just around the corner, you’ll find the Livraria Lello, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, with its ornate interior and curved wooden staircase that inspired J.K. Rowling’s depiction of Hogwarts. Porto’s beaches offer a refreshing escape from the city, with a mix of sandy shores and rocky coastlines. One of the most popular areas is Foz do Douro, where the Douro River meets the Atlantic Ocean. The long walk from Dom Luís I Bridge to Foz do Douro is really nice. Food and drink Porto’s culinary scene is a mix of traditional flavors and contemporary twists. Must-try dishes include the Francesinha, a hearty sandwich with multiple layers of meat, melted cheese, and a rich sauce, as well as bacalhau (salted cod). Seafood lovers will delight in the fresh offerings from the nearby Atlantic Ocean, served at the city’s many marisqueiras (seafood restaurants).
