This church and monastery are a fine example of 10th-century transitional architecture in Catalonia

Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Girona (Region) Traces of Carolingian, Mozarabic and Romanesque elements, with Lombard influences, still exist today. Construction of the church began in the 10th century in the Mozarabic style and was finally completed in 1022. The central nave is topped with a barrel vault, and the side naves have a quarter-spherical vault. There are two towers on either side of the church, which were influenced by the French Romanesque style. The carved decoration has similarities with the churches of Saint-Genis-les-Fonts and Saint-Andreuil-de-Sureda. #AprilDestinations2025 #SpainTravel #Catalonia
