Visiting during these off-peak times offers excellent value, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing island getaway. 3. For convenient travel and proximity to the station, consider staying near Longwangtou. The prices are reasonable, and the surrounding amenities are well-developed, making it suitable for students and budget travelers. 4. For a tranquil beach experience with a private feel, Tannan Bay is an excellent choice. If your budget allows, Beigang Cultural and Creative Village offers a vacation with an artistic atmosphere. However, transportation there is less convenient, so renting a scooter or driving is recommended. 5. When choosing a sea-view room in Pingtan, opt for higher floors for panoramic ocean views and to minimize the humidity common near the coast. 6. When renting a scooter or car, choose a reputable rental agency. Carefully inspect the vehicle's condition and take photos as a record to avoid disputes. Your travel safety and enjoyment depend on it. 7. Changjiang'ao Wind Farm is a stunning spot for sunset viewing. Arrive around 4:30 pm and navigate to "Changjiang'ao Wind Farm Scenic Area." The vast expanse of wind turbines against the sunset backdrop makes for incredible photos. 8. Be cautious of people who approach you on the beach offering water sports activities. Prices are often unclear, and consumer protection may be lacking. Choose established water sports operators for a better experience. 9. Dongyang Island is worth a visit. Go in the morning when there are fewer people. On clear days, the water is crystal clear, resembling a glass sea, offering a truly idyllic island experience. 10. Shipaiyang Scenic Area is free. Visit in the evening to admire the unique sea-eroded landscape and beautiful sunset. Be careful when walking, as the area has many reefs. 11. Houyan Island is another recommended destination. It's the closest point on mainland China to Taiwan. Expect crowds during peak season, especially for photo opportunities. The island boasts unique scenery and strong winds, so dress accordingly. 12. For more affordable dining options, the county seat offers a wider variety. Some restaurants at tourist spots can be pricey. Pingtan's night markets have a wide variety of snacks, but some can be overpriced and of varying quality.
