Attractions Beigang Village 🎫Tickets: Free 📍Address: Beigang Village, Liushui Town, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Beigang Village is an artsy fishing village with stone houses scattered across the hillside. The blue and white houses against the azure sky create a fairytale-like setting. Stroll along the seaside boardwalk, listen to the waves crashing against the rocks, and feel the gentle sea breeze—pure bliss. The village also boasts unique homestays, cafes, and craft shops. When you're tired of exploring, find a cozy spot, order a drink, admire the sea view, and unwind. Changjiang'ao Wind Farm 🎫Tickets: Free 📍Address: Northern Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Here, you'll find a vast expanse of wind turbines. The white windmills stand tall against the backdrop of the blue sky, sea, and sandy beach, creating a breathtaking panorama. Take a leisurely walk along the beach, marvel at the windmills up close, and watch flocks of seabirds soar through the sky. At sunset, the golden glow paints the windmills and the sea, transforming the scene into a picturesque masterpiece, perfect for capturing stunning photos📸. It's a photographer's paradise. Shipaiyang Scenic Area 🎫Tickets: Approx. CNY 40 (including round-trip boat ticket) 📍Address: Kanao Village, Su'ao Town, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Shipaiyang, one of Pingtan's most iconic natural wonders, features two colossal sea stacks, one tall and one short, standing proudly in the sea. Known as a "wonder of the world," these formations are a sight to behold. Take a boat trip to Shipaiyang for a closer look at nature's artistry. The surrounding waters are crystal clear, teeming with marine life. Ocean lovers, don't miss this! Houyan Island 🎫Tickets: Free 📍Address: Donga'o Village, Aoqian Town, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone Houyan Island marks the closest point between mainland China and Taiwan Island. A stone monument inscribed with "Mainland China - Taiwan Island shortest distance 68 nautical miles" stands as a poignant reminder of this proximity. The island's landscape is equally unique, with rugged rocks and strong sea winds. Standing by the shore, gazing into the distance, you can almost see Taiwan across the strait, feeling the close connection between the two sides. The island also has some popular photo spots, such as the lighthouse and colorful houses. Food Seafood: Longfengtou Seafood Stalls and Tannan Bay Seafood Stalls are both excellent choices. Shi Lai Yun Zhuan: A Pingtan specialty snack, meaning "fortune comes," with a delicious flavor. Bazhen Fried Cake: A traditional Pingtan dish with rich ingredients and a soft, glutinous texture. Snacks: Don't miss out on oyster cakes, fried eel, fish ball soup, and golden sturgeon glutinous rice. Accommodation For convenient access to various attractions, consider staying in Pingtan County or near Longfengtou Beach. There are numerous hotels and homestays ranging from CNY 150 to 500, with convenient transportation and amenities like restaurants and supermarkets. For a tranquil seaside experience, opt for homestays in Beigang Village, Changjiang'ao, or other coastal areas. Prices range from CNY 200 to 800, offering stunning sea views right from your doorstep. However, transportation might be less convenient, requiring car rentals or taxis. Transportation 🚗External Transportation: Fly to Fuzhou Changle International Airport and take a bus to Pingtan (approx. 2 hrs). Alternatively, take a high-speed train to Fuqing Station or Fuzhou Station and transfer to a bus bound for Pingtan. Visitors from nearby cities can drive to Pingtan Island via the Pingtan Strait Bridge. 🚕Internal Transportation: Public transportation within Pingtan Island is limited, with infrequent buses and restricted operating hours. Taxis or ride-hailing services are more convenient but pricier. Renting a car is highly recommended for flexible exploration and easy access to attractions.
