Unseen: Paying homage at Phra Phut Temple, Phuket Province

Wat Phra Thong or Wat Phra Phut is an unseen wonder of Thailand hidden in another corner of Phuket. There is an interesting legend about its origins. According to legend, the location of the temple used to be a rice field. One day, a boy took his buffalo to graze in the field and tied the rope used to tie the buffalo to a tree stump by the canal that was covered in mud. When he returned home, the boy fainted and died, and the buffalo died later. Later, the boy's father dreamed that the rope used to tie the buffalo was tied to the hair of a Buddha statue. He invited his neighbors to scrub the tree stump by the canal and saw the hair of the Buddha statue turn gold.
