Another ancient shrine in Phuket that is over a hundred years old, and is different from other shrines in that Put Cho Shrine or Aam Put Cho is home to the Bodhisattva Guan Yin or Guan Yin Put Cho, an important deity in Mahayana Buddhism that people like to worship the most. In addition, it is a shrine that uses fortune sticks to cure diseases, which is famous and has been passed down from mouth to mouth. This is a unique feature that is very hard to find. Shrine legend It has been told that the area where the shrine is located was originally a large canal that large boats could pass through, which had both a pier and a shrine. At that time, the locals called this shrine “Te Jun Shrine” or “Guan Yu”. When a merchant sailed a three-masted boat from Penang to trade in Phuket, the merchant brought a wooden sculpture of Guan Yin Put Cho with him. When he saw the area of the shrine, he liked it and saw that it was a suitable place, so he invited Guan Yin Put Cho to be enshrined.
