Tropical Dreaming: My Phu Quoc Getaway 🌴

If you’re dreaming of island vibes, clear waters, and unexpected gems – let me tell you, Phu Quoc, Vietnam is more than just a beach destination. It’s a whole mood. Here’s my experience + some tips if you’re planning your trip: ⸻ 💛 What I Loved Most: 1. 🏖️ Sunset Town Like a European coastal town but in Asia! The architecture, pastel buildings, and sunset glow here — chef’s kiss. It’s free to explore and perfect for photos. 2. 🚡 Hon Thom Cable Car Ride Longest sea cable car in the world! It’s peaceful, surreal, and gives you that wow I’m really here feeling. Definitely a MUST. 3. 🏄♀️ Island Hopping We visited 2 small islands — white sands, clear blue water. You can snorkel or just chill with a coconut in hand. Life = complete. 4. 🐙 Night Market Food Hunt Tried Vietnamese grilled seafood, fresh coconut ice cream, and chuoi nep nuong (banana with sticky rice – a must!). 5. 🦐 Kayak in Starfish Beach So many real starfish in shallow water – just don’t lift them up, ya! Nature pun ada boundaries. ⸻ 💡 Tips & Tricks: • SIM Card – Get one at the airport. Internet here helps a lot for Grab, maps, and translation. • Transport – Use GrabBike or rent a motorbike if you berani! But roads boleh sempit. • Weather – Dry season is Nov–April. I went during summer & still ok, just bawa sunscreen! • Halal food? – Not banyak, but seafood is everywhere. Also bring cup noodles if you nak jimat or worry about food. ⸻ 🎨 Creative/Fun Things To Try: • 📸 Photoshoot at Sunset Town – macam Disneyland vibes! • 🌌 Chill rooftop at night with ocean view – get drinks & enjoy local music. • 🖼️ Make your own fish sauce tour – Phu Quoc is famous for this! • 🐚 Collect seashells during golden hour walks – the beaches are CLEAN. • ✨ Go stargazing – few places have such a clear sky at night. ⸻ ❤️ Final Thoughts: Phu Quoc surprised me in the best way. It’s not commercialized like Bali or Phuket yet, so it still feels authentic. If you need a break from city life, this is the recharge island trip you didn’t know you needed. So, would I go again?
