Phra Buddha Chinnarat

When visiting Phitsanulok, you must pay homage to Phra Buddha Chinnarat at Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan, a temple that is a symbol of Phitsanulok Province. It is often called Wat Yai or Wat Phra Buddha Chinnarat. It is located on the eastern bank of the Nan River. It is the location of “Phra Buddha Chinnarat,” a sacred golden Buddha statue that is highly revered by Buddhists. There are many other interesting things in the temple. The Phra Buddha Chinnarat worship ceremony is held from the 6th to the 12th of the waxing moon in the 3rd month of every year. It is a big event, so don’t forget to go if you are going during that time. If you are going to the temple, you should dress appropriately and not too short. For those who wear short or sleeveless clothes, there will be sarongs and cloths for you to cover your shoulders like we did. I recommend that you come and pay homage at least once. The temple is very beautiful.
