Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat or as most people call it "Wat Yai" is a first-class royal temple, Wora Maha Wihan type. It is located on Phuttha Bucha Road, on the eastern bank of the Nan River. Opposite Phitsanulok Provincial Hall, it is home to Phra Buddha Chinnarat, the Buddha statue that is considered the most beautiful in Thailand. This temple has a long history since the Sukhothai period. It has beautiful architecture, art and sculpture. It is considered a valuable cultural heritage of Phitsanulok. In the royal chapel, there are two pairs of mother-of-pearl doors, 1 meter wide and 4.50 meters high, which are one of the most beautiful ancient mother-of-pearl doors. The mother-of-pearl doors were newly built in 2299 during the reign of King Borommakot. He brought the original carved wooden doors to be used as doors for the Phra Thaen Sila Asana temple.
