"Khao Luang Cave" Unseen Phetchaburi Province

A very unseen temple that you must find a chance to visit is Wat Tham Khao Luang. It is located on a small hill with a peak of only 92 meters. The temple is located in Tham Khao Luang or the locals of Phetchaburi like to call it “Tham Wiman Chakri” which is a beautiful cave with stalactites and stalagmites all over the cave walls. This temple was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn who wanted to build a temple on the top of Khao Luang mountain to present to King Mongkut who loved this cave very much. He ordered the construction of a stone staircase into the cave since the time he traveled to this place. King Rama V built a monastery inside Tham Khao Luang, restored ancient Buddha images and created additional Buddha images. One of the images was stamped with the royal seal on the base.
