Thale Noi

Thale Noi is a freshwater lake located in Nang Thung Subdistrict and Thale Noi Subdistrict, Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung Province. It is connected to Songkhla Lake by the 2-kilometer-long Nang Riam Canal. Thale Noi has been declared a wildlife sanctuary, but it is commonly referred to as Thale Noi Waterfowl Park. It is the first wildlife sanctuary in Thailand, under the jurisdiction of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Due to the area's richness and biodiversity, the 'Phru Khuan Khi Sian' area of Thale Noi was declared the first Ramsar Site in Thailand on September 13, 1998. Thale Noi is an area with high biodiversity, including ecosystems, wildlife, aquatic animals, and plant species, especially a large number of birds.
