⚠️Swipe right for potentially disturbing photos When talking about the mummy, the first thing that comes to mind is the tomb raider, give me a heart💓 The first time I watched it as a kid, it really scared me and gave me nightmares (The image of the scarab gnawing away a person and leaving him with nothing but bones in an instant is still vivid in my mind💀) But later, because I often read adventure novels So I became interested in the history, culture and mythology of Egypt. I personally really like the Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition - Legend of Eternal Life, which was held at the Hong Kong Science Museum in 2017. It was the theme of that year. The ancient Egyptians believed that 👼🏼 people would go to another world after death, and that in that world they could obtain true eternal life✝️. So to put it simply, mummifying the body, making a book of the dead, and placing a large number of burial objects next to the tomb are all for the purpose of allowing the deceased to successfully pass the judgment of the underworld⚖️ I still remember that the overall tone of the museum was dark. Every few steps on the wall, there was an excerpt from the Book of the Dead. It was illuminated by soft white light, but every word was like a burning fire, which made people unconsciously anticipate the end of life. I would think of the ancient Egyptians and yearn for the world after death. This time, the Western Australian Museum uses the color of historical yellow to present the past of ancient Egyptian civilization in a more relaxed way 💁🏼‍♀️. The most special thing about this exhibition is that there are ❗animal mummies❗, including cats, fish, and crocodiles, which are relatively rare exhibits. It also has an interactive exhibition showing how to make a cat mummy 🧐; and there are a total of 6 human mummies, just like the one exhibited in Hong Kong, using advanced CT technology, so that without destroying the mummies, their original appearance can be restored as much as possible, and their age, gender, health status, eating habits and even social status can be inferred. Overall, this is an Egyptian exhibition that is worth visiting. Although it is a bit difficult to read a lot of English vocabulary, there are free audio guides at the entrance of the exhibition.
