His mother in China missed her son very much because he never contacted her. Lim Ko Niao felt sorry for her mother, so she volunteered to search for her brother. She met Lim To Kiem at Ban Kru Se and lived there for a long time to invite her brother to return to China to meet his mother. However, her brother refused because he was building the Kru Se Mosque. When he could not make her brother return to China as his mother wished, Lim Ko Niao hung himself under a cashew tree in grief. Lim To Kiem therefore built a tomb for his younger sister according to tradition. However, when the Chinese learned of his gratitude for keeping his promise, the villagers went to make a vow before carving the cashew nut into the shape of Lim Ko Niao and enshrining it at the Kru Se Shrine. Later, it was moved to Leng Chu Kiang Shrine until today. It is widely accepted and respected among the Chinese-Thai people. Even among the descendants of the Chinese who converted to Islam and speak Malay, some of them still go to ask for blessings or make vows to Lim Ko Niao.
