Solo Trip to Disneyland Paris: A Magical Birthday Adventure

Planning a solo trip to Disneyland Paris turned into a delightful experience thanks to meeting a travel buddy through social media. I added Paris to my itinerary before heading back to the UK, specifically to visit Disneyland. ✈️ I flew from Rome, Italy to Paris Orly Airport, and took the metro line 14 to line A, costing 13 euros. You can purchase tickets via Apple Wallet, the Navigo transport card, the IDF mobilites app, or at metro station machines. The first purchase incurs a 2-euro card fee, but you can recharge the card later. 🏠 Accommodation: I stayed at ibis Marne-la-Vallée Val d'Europe, just one stop away from Disneyland on line A, conveniently located at the metro station entrance. It takes only 2 minutes to reach Disneyland. Although Paris metro no longer charges by zone, staying in the city center doesn't affect transportation costs. I chose a nearby hotel for convenience. The park opens at 9:30 AM, and I arrived at 9:40 AM. Despite being a Sunday, the crowd wasn't overwhelming. After passing security, I headed to the park area first, then explored the studio area. I relied on the official Disneyland Paris app for navigation and checking queue times. Many attractions had quick single rider lines, with waits usually no longer than 15 minutes. The longest wait was for an outdoor driving attraction without a single rider option. I managed to enjoy most attractions and spent ample time shopping and dining. The day wasn't rushed, especially since many attractions were closed. The parade was at 5:30 PM and fireworks at 10 PM, as indicated on the app. If unsure, ask any staff member. Celebrating my birthday at Disneyland was special. Upon entering the studio, I requested a birthday badge from a staff member, showing my passport. The staff wrote my name on the badge and drew Mickey Mouse and fireworks. Staff wished me happy birthday while queuing for attractions, making me feel delighted. Dinner options close at 9 PM, so plan accordingly if you want to eat before the fireworks. I had a cowboy meal for lunch, costing 18 euros, which included a sausage, chicken leg, and pork chop. Feeling full, I braved the nearby Indiana roller coaster. I didn't get sick, thankfully. The meal lasted until evening, and before the food stalls closed, I had a 5-euro crepe. I revisited some attractions before preparing for the fireworks. The fireworks started at 10 PM, featuring music, fountains, drone displays, and lasted 20 minutes. Afterward, I followed the crowd to the station. It was an incredibly joyful and fulfilling day!
